ROSACEA TREATMENTS IN LONDON
Living with rosacea can sometimes feel like you’re fighting a losing battle with many of the recommended products and treatments not living up to expectations. However, we’re here to help. Rosacea treatment is a journey, but we believe that with the right treatment, you can minimise the redness associated with the condition and improve your symptoms.
Our Harley Street clinic uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) skin rejuvenation and vascular rejuvenation on rosacea skin. The treatment is applied to the affected blood vessels, which are broken down by the body’s healing response and help with reducing facial redness. We can help with rosacea on all areas of the face, including the cheeks, nose, and chin. Our Skincare Professionals combine specialised clinical in-clinic treatments with skincare products to effectively treat rosacea.
Our treatments include the Intense Pulsed Light skin rejuvenation and Intense Pulsed Light vascular rejuvenation and Vascular Laser treatment. The treatments can range from laser and non-laser treatments or a combination of both.
Rosacea, typically characterised by swelling, redness, and dilated blood vessels, rosacea is a long-term skin condition which affects the face. Although it can be managed with a long-term treatment plan, very little is known for sure about that causes the condition in the first place. Rosacea most commonly affects the nose, cheeks, forehead, and occasionally the chin.
Common causes of Rosacea are:
Genetics – Most rosacea sufferers have a close relative who also suffers from the condition, although it is not yet clear how it is passed on.
H. pylori bacteria – Found in the gut, this bacteria has been linked to rosacea as it produces a protein which dilates the blood vessels.
Abnormal Blood Vessels – Abnormalities in the facial blood vessels are considered a major contributing factor when it comes to rosacea.
Demodex folliculorum (microscopic mites) – Usually harmless, these microscopic mites appear in a far larger number on the skin of rosacea sufferers, indicating that they play a role in causing the condition.
Rosacea can also flare up due to different triggers, which can make your symptoms worse. Common rosacea triggers include stress, sunlight, hot and cold weather, alcohol, and exercise and can show more on ageing skin.
